Here’s some information about Van and his passion for America.
Van’s story consists of three components: growing up, working life, and serving others. Clair VAN Steenwyk. grew up in Bellflower, CA. with loving parents who saw to it he attended Church and Sunday School every Sunday, and of course, the normal stuff: school, 3-week summer vacations in Iowa, visiting family. He also spent part of the 60’s cruising in his ‘55 Chevy in Bellflower, Ca. and surrounding towns . . . His Father believed if you wanted spending money you earned it. He began working after school and summers at 9, this gave him the incentive to start his own businesses and manage others. Being raised this way was normal then, his Father believed it’s never too early to teach children responsibility.
He’s been active in politics since President Eisenhower’s Re-Election Campaign in 1956, also at the age of 9. His wife Jean and Van served as PCs (Precinct Committeemen), State Committeemen and Delegates to State Conventions. They also Hosted Candidate Forums, Rallies, Fundraisers and Political Events using his Radio Show. Jean and Van founded & operated a Christian outreach beginning in 1976 with a Christian Halfway & Coffee House in Bellflower, CA. , which reached out to L.A.’s skid row, Hollywood Blvd., and a Village in Mexico.
Van’s a Successful Businessman / Entrepreneur who worked in the Food Industry from the 1970’s, building a Distribution & Marketing Co., Property Management Co., Store Front and Online Antique Business, Communications Company, and Consulting Firm, retiring as an Executive in the Food Industry in 2001.
In 2004, Van began hosting a Political Talk Radio Program called “Crossroads with Van,” starting in L.A., then ID, FL and Phoenix, doing Political Talk Radio from a Christian Perspective; these programs were simulcast around the world via Internet. His broadcast expertise is in interviewing politicians, candidates and others, on Issues, Policies and their Votes vs. the promises made—and usually broken. Van retired from Radio in 2014, however continues the Internet Radio Programs and Speaking Engagements.
He’d been asked to run for office since the 80’s, however believed that his Businesses, Christian Outreach—plus political activity—were “enough.” Jean and Van observed the Rhetoric of most running or serving didn’t fit their Records, so after discussing with others and prayer, they made the decision to run for office rather than just helping others and doing interviews, etc.
They came out of retirement and ran for office as a Christian Constitutional Conservative Republican Candidate, knowing that compromising the Constitution and Freedoms isn’t acceptable, although they haven’t been successful, however believe they’ve brought up issues and exposed the real records of some politicians, however losing hasn’t changed their minds as to what needs to be done and continue working toward those Goals! We must to negotiate on spending bills and programs—not just compromise/surrender to the GOP Establishment—but never negotiate or limit Our Rights!
Election Cycles are Critical to the Nation as to whether we sink deeper into a Socialist Nation or Restore It to a True Republic form of Government. We are a Constitutional Representative Republic based on Judeo-Christian principles, yet are being dictated to by a federal government that seemingly ignores the Constitution at every turn. Van measures our Constitution against the laws Congress continues passing having no Constitutional authority behind them, as they’ve flagrantly violated their Oaths and also believes some in the GOP will try to block President Trumps / Our Agendas as well!
The solution to the nation’s problems is to bring the Federal Government into Compliance with the U.S. Constitution.
Van & Jean thank you for taking the time to read this statement and hope you’ll join them in their goal,
as well as sharing it with your Friends and others.
God Bless You All; Clair & Jean Van Steenwyk
America’s Creed, Is It Yours?
I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people; whose powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in the republic, a sovereign Nation of many States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my Duty to my Country to Love it, to Support its’ Constitution, to Obey its’ Laws, to respect its’ Flag and to Defend it against All enemies. –Written 1917. Accepted by the United States House of Representatives on April 3,1918.
