Clair VAN Steenwyk grew up in Bellflower, CA, in a Loving Christian Home, attending Church and Sunday School. His Father taught his children responsibility, which led to Van starting his own businesses while managing others.
Van’s been active in politics since the Re-Election Campaign of President Eisenhower in 1956, at age 9. Since moving to AZ, Jean and Van have served as Republican Party PCs (Precinct Committeemen), State Committeemen and Delegates to State Conventions. They’ve also Hosted Candidate Forums, Rallies at the Capitol including a Pro-2nd Amendment Rally, Fundraiser 4 Vets, and other Political Events using his Radio Show as the launching pad.
From the mid-‘70s to the early-‘90s, Jean and Van founded & operated a Christian Outreach on L.A.’s skid row, Hollywood Blvd., a Village in Mexico, and a Christian Halfway & Coffee House in Bellflower, CA, where they gave aid and advice to any who dropped in.
Van’s a Retired Successful Businessman/Entrepreneur, working in the Food Industry from 1970, until he retired in 2001 as an Executive. During this time, Van also privately built a Property Management Co., Distribution & Marketing Co., and a Consulting Firm.
In 1998 Van & Jean built a Store Front & Online Antique Business. And in 2004 built a Communications Company, where Van’s radio career began in L.A., hosting “Crossroads with Van,” Political Talk, which ended on AM Radio in Phoenix, 10 years later, but, continues with Internet Broadcasting. His expertise is interviewing politicians /candidates on Issues & Policies, exploring their Records vs. Rhetoric.
Van’s been asked to run for office since the ‘80s, however, he believed Developing Businesses and Christian Outreach—plus political activism–were “enough.” Van was challenged again by many of his Listeners and some TEA Party Members in 2012, to come out from behind the Microphone and run for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Sen. Kyl, against then-Rep. Flake.
Van & Jean listened to the requests, discussed and prayed about it, and then decided to run as a “Christian Constitutional Conservative Activist Republican.” Knowing that compromising the Constitution and Freedoms isn’t acceptable, we also knew the Career Politicians and Bureaucrats who run most of our government by doing just that, must be exposed and stopped.
Van, though not winning the race, brought issues to the voters exposing the contrast between most politicians’ Records vs. Rhetoric. He believes this will help others to run while exposing how corrupt the system is; he also believes the system can still be fixed by Citizens willing to take the Heat!
“We don’t need compromising, career politicians who surrender to the GOP Establishment—you must never negotiate Our God-Granted Rights away, nor limit them! Our Founders very clearly stated, to give up a little Freedom for Security will soon leave you with Neither.”
The false promises of AZ Politicians in AZ’s Own Political Swamp! We need Real change in AZ Politics and the only way I see to get this done is by running to replace those short sited Politicians.
I believe Election Cycles are Critical for our Nation and State as to whether we sink deeper into a Socialistic Nation, or Restore Ourselves to a True Republican Form of Government.
The choices are clear: Never vote for anyone who votes against, or compromises, the US or AZ Constitutions . . . as Our Freedoms are at stake. I believe compromising Our Freedoms is actually what most of them are hoping for and the Elite Power Brokers are working toward!
Time to Drain the Political Swamps!
God Bless You All; Clair VAN Steenwyk

America’s Creed – Is It Yours?
“I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people; whose powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in the republic, a sovereign Nation of many States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my Duty to My Country to Love it, to Support its Constitution, to Obey its Laws, to respect its Flag and to Defend it against all enemies.” –Written 1917. Accepted by the United States House of Representatives on April 3,1918.
